Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah | Yato Dharma: Tato Jayah ||
The word 'Dharma' is derived from the root 'Dhru,' which means to uphold. Dharma means to uphold good thoughts and put them into practice. The thoughts that lead to our progress are Dharma, and those that do not are Adharma.
Everyone should protect Dharma with a sense of duty. Where there is a sense of duty, there resides God. Dharma and society cannot be separate. The one who practices Dharma and holds Dharma and society in high regard has God residing in their home, and this divine presence brings all kinds of happiness. When we protect Dharma, Dharma protects us. Our Dharma is such that it transforms a person into Narayana himself. The importance of our ancient Vedic Dharma and Hindu culture is being recognized by the West, and people are being drawn towards our Eastern culture. The Guru tradition in India is a great tradition. This tradition creates disciples. Gurus impart all kinds of knowledge to their disciples and only accept them after observing their excellent conduct. The disciple who carries forward the religious policies and traditions of the Guru becomes a worthy disciple. Among many disciples, the Guru selects the best one and initiates them into discipleship, sometimes even performing Shaktipat (transmission of spiritual energy). Over time, when the Guru attains Brahmalin (merges with the divine), this disciple becomes the Guru. In this way, as one flame extinguishes, another is lit. This tradition of 'lighting one lamp with another' has been ongoing for thousands of years. If these ancient traditions of Hindu Dharma continue, the world will benefit. We should accept our traditions with pride.
Nowadays, the recitation of the Vedas is declining. The Vedas, scriptures, Puranas, and Yajnas we have are all true; there is no falsehood or superstition in them.
To increase Dharma, the flag of Dharma must be flown. The Dharma flag is a unified triangular shape, moving from multiplicity towards unity. Flying the Dharma flag signifies the commencement of an endeavor. Our Dharma flag must always fly high. Everyone should gain knowledge of Dharma.
