Human life is such that it needs support. No matter how self-sufficient a person is, they still need support. There is some power behind us, and we feel supported by that power, knowing it takes care of us. Even if a person expresses this feeling, that power immediately starts working. You all have experienced this directly.
The tradition in which we worship the Guru is the highest form of worship. Serving at the feet of the Guru is extremely beneficial for attaining lasting happiness in human life.
In the 47th chapter of the Guru Charitra, the Diwali episode is particularly noteworthy. The disciples expressed a strong desire for the Guru to come to their homes for Diwali. The Guru humorously said, "How can I come to each of your homes?" All the disciples felt very sad. Some disciples said, "Lord, if you do not come, we will enter the Ganges." Out of love for them, the Guru called seven disciples at different times and told them, "I will come to your home, but do not tell anyone." The Guru truly took on seven forms and went to the homes of those seven disciples. Diwali was celebrated joyfully. After Diwali, those seven disciples came to Ganagapur for Kartik Purnima. When each disciple saw the Guru, they felt that the Guru was wearing the same garment they had offered. Each one told the others, "This is the garment I gave." How did all seven garments come to be in one place at the same time? Then the disciples realized that the Guru had taken on seven forms out of love for them and had all their garments with him.
When we come to Ganagapur for Kartik Purnima, we should have the feeling that this God is ours and acts as we say. He grants grace as we ask; if we keep this strong belief in our minds, we will experience it. Even though these miracles happened during his physical presence, such miracles are still happening today in his indirect presence. The Guru calls us for his darshan. We experience the direct service we perform with devotion. When we love, we receive love. When there is no selfishness in a person's mind, true love arises. Keep this feeling of love constantly. God is ours. The power that will be generated from this will be for our welfare.
